Dr. Malcolm Anastasius is a general cardiologist who graduated from the University of New South Wales with Honours and completed specialty training in Cardiology at Concord Hospital in 2014. During this time he also completed a Masters of Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) at the University of Sydney.
Currently, he is undertaking PhD studies through the University of Sydney and the ANZAC research institute, evaluating mechanisms related to atherosclerosis, including functional properties of high-density lipoprotein. He was awarded a University of Sydney Medical School Postgraduate Research Scholarship to support his studies. He has presented prior research work at local and international meetings.
His interests also include cardiac assessment with non-invasive imaging modalities, general cardiovascular risk assessment, cardiac risk stratification prior to non-cardiac surgery and the management of heart failure, coronary artery and valvular heart disease.
